Disney’s Coco took in $2.490 M on Tuesday to lead the daily box office for a 14th straight day. Coco continues to display strong holding power, as the film was up a terrific 66.6 percent
over Monday and down only 24.6 percent from last Tuesday. It should be noted that yesterday’s daily percentage increases were especially strong in general. The two-week total for Coco stands at an
impressive $114.094 M. In comparison to previous Disney Thanksgiving weekend openers, Coco is running 15.4 percent ahead of the $98.876 M two-week haul of 2010’s Tangled and just 7.5 percent behind the
$123.382 M two-week take of last year’s Moana. |
Warner’s Justice League held steady in second place with $1.720 M. In the process, Justice League passed the $200 M domestic mark yesterday. Justice League has grossed a softer than
expected $200.265 M in 19 days, which places the film an underwhelming 25.1 percent behind the $267.255 M 19-day total of last year’s Suicide Squad. Justice League was up 51.1 percent over Monday and down a
solid 41.9 percent from last Tuesday. |
Lionsgate’s Wonder grossed $1.394 M to continue to claim third. Wonder was up a very strong 74.0 percent over Monday and down just 27.9 percent from last Tuesday. Wonder continues
to pad its status as one of the bigger surprise hits of 2017 with an impressive 19-day total of $89.875 M. That leaves Wonder $10.12 M away from reaching the $100 M domestic mark and already gives the film a current
total gross to opening weekend ratio of 3.26 to 1. |
Disney’s Thor: Ragnarok remained in fourth place with $1.023 M. Thor: Ragnarok increased 35.7 percent over Monday and decreased a slim 11.5 percent from last Tuesday. The 33-day total for
Thor: Ragnarok stands at a mighty $293.411 M, which leaves the film just $6.59 M away from reaching the $300 M domestic milestone. |
Fox’s Murder on the Orient Express and Paramount’s Daddy’s Home 2 claimed fifth and sixth place with respective daily grosses of $888 K and $753 K. Total grosses for the two films remain
close, as respective 26-day totals stand at $86.309 M for Murder on the Orient Express and at $84.104 M for Daddy’s Home 2. Both films continue to outpace pre-release expectations. |
