By Daniel Garris

The film was down 25.2 percent from Tuesday and down a solid 36.2 percent from last Wednesday. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has grossed $310.912 M in 20 days. The film is running 34.2 percent ahead of the $231.681 M 20-day gross of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and 10.1 percent behind the $345.877 M 20-day haul of 2013’s Iron Man 3. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a four-day gross of $26.0 M for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 this weekend.

Fox’s Alien: Covenant held steady in second with $2.173 M. Alien: Covenant declined 35.8 percent from Tuesday’s performance. The six-day total for Alien: Covenant stands at $45.042 M, which is on the low end of expectations. Alien: Covenant is running an underwhelming 31.1 percent behind the $65.333 M six-day take of 2012’s Prometheus and 15.6 percent behind the $53.394 M six-day gross of last year’s Independence Day: Resurgence. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a four-day gross of $17.0 M for Alien: Covenant this weekend.

Warner’s Everything, Everything remained in third place with $756 K. Everything, Everything was down 33.8 percent from Tuesday. Everything, Everything has grossed $14.501 M in six days, which is on the high end of expectations and represents a healthy start given the film’s modest $10 M production budget. Everything, Everything is running 25.7 percent behind the $19.527 M six-day take of 2014’s If I Stay. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a four-day take of $7.8 M for Everything, Everything this weekend.

Fox’s Snatched continued to claim fourth place with $704 K. Snatched decreased 35.5 percent from Tuesday and 42.0 percent from last Wednesday. Snatched has grossed $35.678 M in thirteen days, which places the film 42.8 percent ahead of the $24.980 M thirteen-day take of 2015’s Hot Pursuit. BoxOfficeReport is predicting $5.7 M for Snatched over this weekend’s four-day holiday frame.

Warner’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword rounded out Wednesday’s unchanged top five with $681 K. The film declined 32.0 percent from Tuesday and 35.4 percent from last Wednesday. The thirteen-day take for the pricey King Arthur: Legend of the Sword stands at a very disappointing $30.115 M. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a four-day take of $4.5 M for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword this weekend.

Fox’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul held steady in sixth with $451 K. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul was down just 19.5 percent from Tuesday. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul has grossed a lackluster $8.675 M in six days and is running 57.9 percent behind the $20.612 M six-day start of 2012’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a four-day gross of $5.0 M for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul this weekend.
