| Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 grossed $5.947 M on Tuesday to lead the daily box office for a twelfth consecutive day. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 increased 26.5 percent over
Monday and decreased 50.8 percent from last Tuesday. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has grossed a strong $259.069 M through twelve days of release. That places the film 37.5 percent ahead of the $181.860 M twelve-day
take of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and 12.1 percent behind the $294.724 M twelve-day gross of 2013’s Iron Man 3. |
| Fox’s Snatched held steady in second place with $1.944 M. Snatched was up 37.7 percent over Monday’s performance. Snatched continues to perform towards the higher end of
expectations with a five-day start of $22.898 M. The film is running 41.5 percent ahead of the $16.188 M five-day haul of 2015’s Hot Pursuit and 39.5 percent behind the $37.818 M five-day gross of 2015’s Trainwreck. |
| Warner’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword took in $1.728 M to remain in third. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword increased 37.6 percent over Monday. The five-day total for the film stands
at a disappointing $18.356 M. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is running 9.4 percent ahead of the $16.773 M five-day start of 2015’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and 56.7 percent behind the $42.421 M five-day take
of 2010’s Robin Hood. |
| Universal’s The Fate of the Furious continued to claim fourth with $512 K. The Fate of the Furious was up 32.9 percent from Monday and down a solid 39.9 percent from last Tuesday.
The Fate of the Furious has grossed $216.032 M in 33 days, which places the film 6.0 percent behind the $229.851 M 33-day haul of 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. |
| Disney’s Beauty and the Beast rounded out Tuesday’s unchanged top five with $384 K. Beauty and the Beast increased 27.5 percent from Monday and decreased just 23.1 percent from last
Tuesday. Beauty and the Beast has grossed a massive $494.825 M in 61 days and is now just $5.175 M away from reaching the $500 M domestic milestone. |
