| Universal’s The Fate of the Furious grossed $1.869 M on Tuesday to remain in first place at the daily box office. The Fate of the Furious increased 39.5 percent from Monday and decreased
46.8 percent from last Tuesday. With a 19-day gross of $196.477 M, The Fate of the Furious is just $3.523 M away from becoming the third release of 2017 to reach the $200 M domestic mark. The Fate of the Furious
is running 5.1 percent behind the $207.032 M 19-day take of 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. |
| Lionsgate and Pantelion’s How to Be a Latin Lover held steady in second with $1.100 M. How to Be a Latin Lover was up 29.6 percent over Monday’s performance, which represented one of the
day’s lower percentage increases among wide releases. In the bigger picture, How to Be a Latin Lover continues to exceed expectations with a five-day start of $14.202 M. That places the film 28.4 percent ahead of the
$11.062 M five-day take of 2013’s Instructions Not Included. |
| Great India Films’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was up one spot from Monday to take third on Tuesday with an estimated $1.067 M. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was up a very impressive
80.5 percent over Monday’s performance. For the day, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion had a very healthy per-location average of $2,511 from a moderate 425 locations. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has grossed an
estimated $12.280 M through five days of release. |
| STX Entertainment and EuropaCorp’s The Circle was down one spot from Monday to land in fourth with $1.023 M. The Circle increased 65.8 percent over Monday, which represented the second
straight healthy daily hold for the film, despite negative reviews and poor early word of mouth. With that said, The Circle is still under-performing with a five-day start of $10.674 M. The Circle is running
40.4 percent behind the $17.924 M five-day take of last year’s Inferno. |
| Disney’s Beauty and the Beast rounded out Tuesday’s top five with $700 K. Beauty and the Beast was up 44.8 percent from Monday and down only 26.7 percent from last Tuesday.
Beauty and the Beast has grossed $481.709 M in 47 days. Before long, the film will pass the $486.296 M total gross of last year’s Finding Dory to move into eighth place on the all-time unadjusted domestic list. |
| Fox and DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby continued to claim sixth place with $607 K. The Boss Baby increased 44.9 percent over Monday and decreased just 28.5 percent from last Tuesday. The Boss Baby has
grossed a stronger than expected $149.813 M in 33 days and is set to surpass the $150 M domestic mark today. |
