Universal and DreamWorks' 1917 took in $3.151 million on Monday to lead the daily box office for a fourth consecutive day. 1917 was down 66.1 percent from Sunday's performance and the film no doubt experienced a bit of a boost yesterday from receiving 10 Academy Award nominations on Monday morning. 1917 passed the $40 million domestic mark yesterday and has grossed $42.873 million through four days of wide release and an additional 16 days of platform release. 1917 is running just 5.6 percent behind the $45.407 million grossed by The Revenant through four days of wide release back in January of 2016.

Disney's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker placed in second with $1.153 million. That represented a 74.5 percent decline from Sunday and a very sharp 61.3 percent decline from last Monday. The 25-day domestic take for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stands at $479.451 million, which is a significant 16.5 percent behind the $574.483 million 25-day haul of 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Internationally, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker grossed an estimated $3.2 million on Monday. That brings the film's international total to $517.1 million and the film's current global take to $996.5 million. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to surpass the $1 billion global mark today, which will make the film the ninth film (and seventh Disney release) of 2019 to reach the $1 billion global milestone.

Sony's Little Women claimed third place with $826,118. Little Women had one of the day's better daily holds among wide releases, as the film was down 65.0 percent from Sunday and down a solid 40.4 percent from last Monday. Little Women received six Academy Award nominations, and like 1917, no doubt received a bit of a boost on Monday from the nominations announcement. Little Women has grossed $75.01 million in 20 days, which already gives the film a strong current total gross to opening weekend ratio of 4.48 to 1.

Fellow Sony release Jumanji: The Next Level followed in fourth with $770,147. That represented an 81.5 percent decline from Sunday and a very sharp 62.5 percent decline from last Monday. Yesterday's hold points towards Jumanji: The Next Level skewing fairly heavily towards family audiences at this point in its run. Jumanji: The Next Level has grossed a healthy $257.900 million through 32 days, which places the film 17.1 percent behind the $311.283 million 32-day gross of 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Warner's Just Mercy took fifth for the day with $670,456, while Paramount's Like A Boss placed in sixth with $615,580. Just Mercy decreased 72.0 percent from Sunday and Like A Boss declined a similar 73.6 percent. Just Mercy has grossed $10.820 million through four days of wide release (and an additional 16 days of platform release), while Like A Boss has grossed $10.627 million through four days. Going forward, Just Mercy is likely to hold up significantly better than Like A Boss, thanks in part to stronger critical reviews and stronger word of mouth.
