| Disney’s Frozen II took in $3.188 million on Monday to lead the daily box office for an eleventh consecutive day. Frozen II declined 83.6 percent from Sunday and a sharp 75.0 percent from last
Monday’s performance, which was inflated by the pre-Thanksgiving frame. Frozen II is on the verge of reaching the $300 million domestic mark with an eleven-day take of $292.033 million. That is an impressive 18.4 percent ahead
of the $246.651 million eleven-day start of Toy Story 4 earlier this year and a slim 1.5 percent behind the $296.500 million eleven-day haul of 2016’s Finding Dory. |
| Lionsgate’s Knives Out placed in second with $1.708 million. That was down 70.4 percent from Sunday’s performance. Knives Out has grossed $43.123 million through six days of release, as the
critically acclaimed Rian Johnson directed ensemble film continues to outpace expectations. Knives Out is running 19.3 percent ahead of the $36.139 million six-day launch of 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express
(which opened on a Friday). |
| Universal’s Queen & Slim took third place with $1.060 million. Queen & Slim continued to display early strong holding power yesterday, as the film declined just 64.3 percent from Sunday.
Queen & Slim has grossed $17.061 million through six days, which is on the very high end of consensus expectations. Making the early performance of Queen & Slim even more impressive is that the film is currently playing
in a relatively modest 1,690 locations. |
| Sony’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood claimed fourth with $773,882. That was down 67.9 percent from Sunday and down 47.9 percent from last Monday, as the Tom Hanks-led film continues to display
strong early holding power. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood has grossed a solid $35.066 million in eleven days and is running 4.4 percent ahead of the $33.574 million eleven-day gross of 2015’s Bridge of Spies. |
| Disney and Fox’s Ford v Ferrari rounded out the daily top five with $749,191. Ford v Ferrari decreased 72.9 percent from Sunday and a sizable 56.3 percent from last Monday’s inflated performance.
The 18-day total for Ford v Ferrari stands at a healthy $81.781 million. That is 15.8 percent ahead of the $70.619 million 18-day haul of 2017’s Baby Driver. |
