| Paramount’s Terminator: Dark Fate took in $1.697 million on Wednesday to top the daily box office for a sixth consecutive day. Terminator: Dark Fate was down a sharp 50.5 percent from Tuesday’s
performance, which had been inflated a bit from Election Day. The six-day total for Terminator: Dark Fate stands at $36.223 million, which is especially disappointing with the film’s expensive price-tag in mind.
Terminator: Dark Fate is running 21.1 percent behind the $45.896 million six-day start of 2015’s Terminator Genisys (which opened on a Wednesday). BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend take of $12.8 million
for Terminator: Dark Fate. |
| Warner’s Joker was up one spot from Tuesday to move back into second place on Wednesday with $1.103 million. Joker continued to display strong holding power yesterday, as the film was down
37.7 percent from Tuesday and down just 32.4 percent from last Wednesday. With a terrific 34-day haul of $303.202 million, Joker is the seventh highest grossing release of 2019 thus far domestically and has an impressive
current total gross to opening weekend ratio of 3.15 to 1. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Joker will gross $9.0 million in its sixth weekend. |
| Focus’ Harriet was down one spot from Tuesday to claim third on Wednesday with $929,530. That represented a sizable, but understandable 47.5 percent decline from Tuesday’s inflated performance. With a
per-location average of $451 for the day, Harriet had the day’s top per-location average among films currently in wide release. Harriet has grossed a stronger than expected $15.339 million in six days and is performing
well with the film’s modest production cost in mind. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $7.7 million for Harriet. |
| Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil held steady in fourth place with $733,722. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil fell a very sharp 57.8 percent from Tuesday, but was still down a solid 33.7 percent
from last Wednesday. With a 20-day take of $88.558 million, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is $11.442 million away from reaching the $100 million domestic mark. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
will register $8.7 million in its fourth weekend. |
| Sony’s Zombieland: Double Tap was up one place from Tuesday to round out Wednesday’s top five with $663,954. That represented a 35.9 percent decrease from Tuesday and a decrease of only 30.8 percent
from last Wednesday. Zombieland: Double Tap has grossed $61.752 million in 20 days, which is in line with expectations. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a fourth weekend haul of $4.3 million for Zombieland: Double Tap. |
