Lionsgate’s Angel Has Fallen grossed $1.821 million on Monday to lead the daily box office for a fourth straight day. That represented a 67.7 percent decline from Sunday’s performance. In comparison, 2016’s London Has Fallen declined 70.4 percent on its first Monday to gross $1.654 million. Angel Has Fallen has grossed a significantly stronger than expected $23.202 million in four days and is running essentially on par with the $23.290 million four-day launch of 2016’s London Has fallen (which is impressive given the sequel fatigue that took a toll on so many sequels this summer).

Universal’s Good Boys followed in second with $1.187 million. Good Boys was down 65.4 percent from Sunday and down a respectable 46.9 percent from last Monday. The eleven-day take for Good Boys stands at a stronger than expected $43.130 million. That places the film 12.5 percent ahead of the $38.337 million eleven-day haul of last year’s Blockers.

Disney’s The Lion King claimed third place with $825,136. The Lion King was down 66.0 percent from Sunday and down a solid 38.5 percent from last Monday. With a strong 39-day take of $511.376 million, The Lion King is currently the 13th highest grossing film of all-time domestically.

Disney and Fox Searchlight’s Ready or Not placed in fourth with an estimated $779,638. That was a 65.7 percent decline from Sunday’s take. Ready or Not is running a bit ahead of expectations with a promising six-day start of $11.823 million. The film is also running essentially on par with the $11.867 million six-day launch of Midsommar earlier this summer.

Universal’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw rounded out Monday’s top five with $730,105. Hobbs & Shaw declined 69.0 percent from Sunday and a solid 45.1 percent from last Monday. With a solid 25-day take of $148.360 million, Hobbs & Shaw is just $1.64 million away from the $150 million domestic mark.

Sony’s Overcomer took sixth place with $691,573. On the heels of Sunday’s strong daily hold, Overcomer declined 69.6 percent on Monday. The four-day start for Overcomer stands at a solid $8.838 million.
