| Disney’s Avengers: Endgame held steady in second place with $1.995 million. Avengers: Endgame was down a solid 31.2 percent from Tuesday and down 47.3 percent from last Wednesday. With a massive
27-day gross of $779.426 million, Avengers: Endgame is the second highest grossing film of all-time domestically. The film is running 29.2 percent ahead of the $603.283 million 27-day take of Avengers: Infinity War
(which declined 33.5 percent on its fourth Wednesday to gross $1.901 million). BoxOfficeReport is predicting a fifth weekend four-day holiday gross of $22.0 million for Avengers: Endgame. |
| Warner and Legendary’s Pokémon Detective Pikachu took in $1.670 million to remain in third. In the process, Detective Pikachu passed the $100 million domestic mark yesterday and has grossed
$101.218 million through thirteen days. Pokémon Detective Pikachu is running just behind the $101.447 million grossed by Shazam! after thirteen days (including previews) earlier this year. BoxOfficeReport predicts that
Pokémon Detective Pikachu will see a third weekend four-day holiday gross of $17.8 million. |
| United Artists Releasing and MGM’s The Hustle was up one spot from Tuesday to move into fourth place on Wednesday with $602,362. The Hustle decreased 37.7 percent from Tuesday and just 29.6 percent
from last Wednesday. The Hustle has grossed $25.491 million in thirteen days, which is in line with expectations. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a third weekend four-day holiday take of $4.7 million for The Hustle. |
| Universal and Amblin’s A Dog’s Journey was down one spot from Tuesday to round out Wednesday’s top five with $553,525. A Dog’s Journey declined a sharp 44.9 percent from Tuesday and has grossed a
softer than expected $10.286 million in six days. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that A Dog’s Journey will register a second weekend four-day holiday gross of $6.3 million. |
