Warner’s Aquaman grossed $2.134 million on Wednesday to lead the daily box office for a 20th consecutive day. That represented a 44.6 percent decline from Tuesday and a 71.1 percent decline from last
Wednesday. With the end of the holidays, midweek grosses for the marketplace in general have understandably come back down to Earth this week. After 19 days of release, Aquaman has grossed an exceptional $268.595 million.
That places the film 4.6 percent ahead of the $256.759 million grossed by 2013’s Man of Steel at the same point in its run. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a fourth weekend gross of $20.0 million for Aquaman.

Yesterday also saw Aquaman pass the $700 million international mark after grossing $5.8 million internationally on Wednesday. To date, Aquaman has grossed $702.9 million internationally and a
massive $971.5 million globally. Current international totals by market for Aquaman include $284.9 million in China, $36.5 million in South Korea, $30.1 million in Brazil, $27.4 million in Mexico, $24.0 million in the
United Kingdom, $22.5 million in France, $21.0 million in Australia, $18.5 million in Russia, $18.4 million in Germany and $17.4 million in Indonesia.

Sony’s Escape Room held steady in second place with $1.094 million. Escape Room decreased 39.3 percent from Tuesday’s performance. The six-day start for Escape Room stands at a stronger than
expected $22.500 million. The film is running 52.2 percent ahead of the $14.786 million six-day take of 2016’s The Forest. Escape Room has been holding up well for a horror film thus far and with that in mind
BoxOfficeReport is predicting that the film will gross $9.2 million in its second weekend.

Fellow Sony release Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was up one spot from Tuesday to move back into third on Wednesday with $1.002 million. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was down 37.4 percent
from Tuesday and down 70.6 percent from last Wednesday. With a healthy 27-day total of $137.850 million, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is running just 8.5 percent behind the $150.641 million 27-day gross of 2017’s

Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns was down one spot from Tuesday to land in fourth on Wednesday with $930,345. That represented a 42.3 percent decline from Tuesday and a very sharp 78.9 percent decrease from
last Wednesday. The 22-day total for Mary Poppins Returns stands at a less than expected, but still solid, $142.558 million. That places the film 32.3 percent ahead of the $107.754 million 20-day haul of 2014’s
Into the Woods. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Mary Poppins Returns will gross $9.5 million in its fourth weekend.

Warner’s The Mule and Paramount’s Bumblebee claimed fifth and sixth place on Wednesday with respective daily grosses of $907,242 and $820,134. To date, Bumblebee has grossed $100.952 million
in 20 days, while The Mule has grossed $84.181 million through 27 days. BoxOfficeReport is predicting respective grosses of $8.2 million for Bumblebee and $6.2 million for The Mule this weekend.
