By Daniel Garris

Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet took first place at the daily box office on Monday with $1.153 million. Ralph Breaks the Internet has now led the daily box office for twelve of the past thirteen days. The film was down 85.2 percent from Sunday and down a sizable 48.8 percent from last Monday. Ralph Breaks the Internet has grossed a strong $120.258 million in thirteen days. That places the film 17.8 percent ahead of the $102.086 million thirteen-day take of 2012’s Wreck-It Ralph and a slim 0.8 percent behind the $121.206 million thirteen-day gross of 2016’s Moana.

MGM’s Creed II placed in a close second with $1.100 million. Creed II trailed Ralph Breaks the Internet by just $53,038 for the day. Creed II declined 74.7 percent from Sunday and a sizable 47.8 percent from last Monday. Creed II continues to perform towards the higher end of expectations with a thirteen-day gross of $82.075 million. The film is running a healthy 25.0 percent ahead of the $65.668 million thirteen-day take of 2015’s Creed.

Universal and Illumination’s Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch followed in third with $870,250. That represented an 84.5 percent decrease from Sunday and a decline of just 33.8 percent from last Monday. Thanks in part to continued strong holding power; The Grinch has hauled in an excellent $204.576 million in 25 days. That places The Grinch 14.7 percent ahead of the $178.423 million 25-day gross of 2012’s Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.

Warner’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald claimed fourth with $828,259. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was down 74.6 percent from Sunday and down a sizable 48.0 percent from last Monday. The film continues to run somewhat below expectations with an 18-day take of $135.331 million. That places Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald an underwhelming 26.6 percent behind the $184.338 million 18-day gross of 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody rounded out Monday’s top five with $653,855. The breakout Queen biopic was down 70.3 percent from Sunday and down only 31.9 percent from last Monday. Bohemian Rhapsody has grossed a stronger than expected $164.986 million through 32 days. That already gives the film a current total gross to opening weekend ratio of 3.23 to 1.
