Fox’s The Predator grossed $1.464 million on Wednesday to top the daily box office for a sixth consecutive day. However, The Predator was down a very sharp 41.5 percent from Tuesday’s
performance. The Predator passed the $30 million domestic mark yesterday and has grossed $30.500 million in six days. That is a bit below expectations and places the film 3.5 percent behind the $31.613 million six-day
launch of 2010’s Predators. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that The Predator will gross $9.3 million in its second weekend. |
Lionsgate’s A Simple Favor held steady in second place with $1.332 million. That represented a very sharp 42.0 percent decline from Tuesday, though it should be noted that
A Simple Favor benefited on Tuesday from being a daily MoviePass option that day. A Simple Favor passed the $20 million domestic mark yesterday and has grossed a very solid $20.917 million in six days. The film
is running 28.0 percent ahead of the $16.340 million six-day start of 2015’s The Age of Adaline. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $8.8 million for A Simple Favor. |
Warner and New Line’s The Nun took in $1.224 million to remain in third. The Nun decreased 36.9 percent from Tuesday and a sharp 51.4 percent from last Wednesday. While it has been
heavily front-loaded thus far, The Nun has grossed a very strong $89.586 million in thirteen days. The film is running an impressive 29.3 percent ahead of the $69.273 million thirteen-day haul of last year’s

Fellow Warner Bros. release Crazy Rich Asians was up one spot from Tuesday to move into fourth place on Wednesday with $862,953. Crazy Rich Asians was down only 22.2 percent from
Tuesday (thanks in part to being a daily MoviePass choice on Wednesday) and down a slim 22.0 percent from last Wednesday (when the film was also a daily MoviePass choice). The 36-day total for Crazy Rich Asians stands at a
very impressive $152.233 million. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Crazy Rich Asians will gross $5.9 million in its sixth weekend. |
Sony and Studio 8’s White Boy Rick was down one place from Tuesday to round out Wednesday’s top five with $853,320. White Boy Rick was down a very solid 29.4 percent from Tuesday, thanks in
part to also being a daily MoviePass choice on Wednesday. White Boy Rick has grossed $11.745 million in six days, which is towards the lower end of pre-release exoectations. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend
