| Disney’s Incredibles 2 grossed $19.737 million on Wednesday to easily remain in first place at the daily box office. Incredibles 2 declined 27.1 percent from Tuesday’s performance, as the
film displayed healthy holding power yesterday. Incredibles 2 passed the $250 million domestic mark yesterday and has grossed an incredible $253.113 million in just six days. That represents the seventh largest six-day
start of all-time, as Incredibles 2 continues to perform more like a high-profile superhero film than a high-profile computer animated film. Incredibles 2 registered the largest six-day haul ever for an animated
film, as the film is running 29.2 percent ahead of the $195.909 million six-day start of 2016’s Finding Dory (which declined 22.0 percent on it first Wednesday to gross $18.085 million). Today Incredibles 2 will
zoom past the $261.441 million final unadjusted domestic gross of 2004’s The Incredibles. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Incredibles 2 will gross $92.0 million in its second weekend, which would represent the
sixth largest unadjusted second weekend gross of all-time. |
| Warner’s Ocean’s 8 held steady in second place with $2.365 million. That represented a 29.5 percent decrease from Tuesday and a respectable 43.6 percent decline from last Wednesday. The thirteen-day
total for Ocean’s 8 stands at a healthy $86.728 million. Ocean’s 8 is running 11.9 percent ahead of the $77.497 million thirteen-day haul of 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a third weekend
take of $10.2 million for Ocean’s 8. |
| Fellow Warner Bros. release Tag continued to claim third with $1.674 million. Tag held up nicely yesterday, as the film was down 27.3 percent from Tuesday. Tag passed the $20 million
domestic mark yesterday and has grossed $20.744 million in six days. That is towards the higher end of expectations and places the film only 3.8 percent behind the $21.563 million six-day start of Game Night earlier this year.
BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $7.8 million for Tag. |
| Positions fourth through sixth remained extremely tight on Wednesday between A24’s Hereditary, Fox’s Deadpool 2 and Disney’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Hereditary claimed fourth place
with $1.034 million, Deadpool took fifth with $1.033 million and Solo: A Star Wars Story followed in sixth with $1.009 million. Respective total grosses stand at a stronger than expected $30.452 million for
Hereditary in thirteen days, at a strong $298.034 million for Deadpool 2 in 34 days and at a softer than expected $197.204 million for Solo: A Star Wars Story in 27 days. |
