Daily Box Office Report
Tuesday, June 19, 2018

By Daniel Garris

Disney’s Incredibles 2 took in an exceptional $27.06 million on Tuesday. That represented the sixth largest Tuesday gross of all-time and the second largest non-opening day first-Tuesday gross of all-time (behind only the $37.36 million first-Tuesday gross of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens and ahead of the $24.343 million first-Tuesday gross of 2015’s Jurassic World). Incredibles 2 increased 1 4.5 percent over Monday’s performance, which represents a very strong first-Tuesday percentage hold for a film with grosses of this magnitude.

The five-day start for Incredibles 2 stands at $233.376 million, as the film continues to outpace its already lofty expectations in a big way. Incredibles 2 registered the seventh largest five-day start of all-time. Incredibles 2 easily scored the largest five-day start ever for an animated film, as the film is running 31.2 percent ahead of the $177.824 million five-day take of 2016’s Finding Dory (which increased 18.5 percent on its first Tuesday to gross $23.192 million). Without taking into account 14 years of ticket price inflation, Incredibles 2 is rapidly approaching the $261.441 million final domestic gross of 2004’s The Incredibles.
