day’s higher daily percentage increases among wide releases. The film passed the $50 million domestic mark yesterday and has grossed a very healthy $52.190 million in five days. Ocean’s 8 is running 18.5 percent ahead of the
$44.059 million five-day launch of 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen and 4.8 percent ahead of the $49.823 million five-day start of 2013’s The Heat. |
Disney’s Solo: A Star Wars Story held steady in second place with $2.266 million. That represented a 25.7 percent increase over Monday and a respectable 43.2 percent decrease from last Tuesday. The
19-day total for Solo: A Star Wars Story stands at a significantly softer than expected $180.769 million. Solo: A Star Wars Story is running 9.7 percent behind the $200.265 million 19-day haul of last year’s

Fox’s Deadpool 2 grossed $2.071 million to remain in third. Deadpool 2 was up 21.4 percent over Monday and down a solid 39.2 percent from last Tuesday. The 26-day total for Deadpool 2
stands at $282.941 million. That leaves Deadpool 2 $17.059 million away from reaching the $300 million domestic milestone and places the film a very respectable 10.1 percent behind the $314.584 million 26-day take of 2016’s

A24’s Hereditary continued to follow closely behind in fourth place with $1.957 million. Hereditary was up a modest 15.2 percent over Monday. In the bigger picture, Hereditary continues to
outpace expectations with a five-day start of $17.231 million. Hereditary is running an impressive 66.6 percent ahead of the $10.345 million five-day haul of 2016’s The Witch. |
Disney’s Avengers: Infinity War rounded out the day’s unchanged top five with $1.183 million. That represented a 28.1 percent increase over Monday and a decrease of just 24.0 percent from last Tuesday.
Avengers: Infinity War has grossed a massive $657.242 million in 47 days, which leaves the film $2.122 million away from passing 1997’s Titanic to move into fourth place on the all-time unadjusted domestic list. |
