and decreased a sharp, but understandable 54.4 percent from last Tuesday. In comparison, Black Panther increased a similar 26.0 percent on its second Tuesday earlier this year to take in $10.204 million, while 2012’s
Marvel’s The Avengers increased 7.0 percent on its second Tuesday to gross $8.478 million. |
| Avengers: Infinity War has grossed $472.064 million through twelve days of release. Today the film will surpass the $474.545 million lifetime domestic gross of 1999’s Star Wars: The Phantom Menace to
move in twelfth place on the all-time unadjusted domestic list. Avengers: Infinity War is running 21.2 percent ahead of the $389.473 million twelve-day take of Marvel’s The Avengers, 11.9 percent ahead of the
$421.916 million twelve-day total of Black Panther and 21.4 percent behind the $600.950 million twelve-day haul of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. |
| Internationally, Avengers: Infinity War grossed an estimated $17.3 million on Tuesday. To date, Avengers: Infinity War has grossed $754.9 million internationally and a massive $1.227 billion
globally. Current international totals by market for Avengers: Infinity War include $75.7 million in South Korea, $72.5 million in the U.K., $50.1 million in Mexico, $47.4 million in Brazil, $37.7 million in India,
$36.2 million in Australia, $33.7 million in France, $29.6 million in Germany, $24.5 million in Japan, $22.0 million in Indonesia, $21.3 million in Russia, $20.5 million in the Philippines, $19.5 million in Italy and
$19.0 million in Spain. Avengers: Infinity War opens in China on Friday. |
| Lionsgate, Pantelion and MGM’s Overboard held steady in second place with $1.584 million. Overboard experienced a 37.5 percent increase over Monday’s performance. Overboard has
grossed $17.448 million in five days. That is on the very high end of expectations and places the film 22.9 percent ahead of the $14.202 million five-day start of last year’s How to Be a Latin Lover
(which increased 29.6 percent on its first Tuesday to take in $1.100 million). Overboard should receive boosts in the coming days from both El Dia de la Madre on Thursday and Mother’s Day on Sunday. |
| Paramount’s A Quiet Place grossed $959,837 to remain in third place. A Quiet Place continued to hold up very well yesterday, as the film was up 38.0 percent over Monday and down a slim
16.1 percent from last Tuesday. The 33-day breakout performance for A Quiet Place stands at a much stronger than expected $161.713 million. |
| STXfilms’ I Feel Pretty continued to claim fourth with $736,405. I Feel Pretty jumped 59.2 percent over Monday and was down just 30.7 percent from last Tuesday. The 19-day total for
I Feel Pretty stands at $39.148 million, which is in line with expectations and 6.5 percent behind the $41.870 million 19-day take of last year’s Snatched. |
| Warner Bros. and New Line’s Rampage rounded out the day’s unchanged top five with $548,601. Rampage was up a strong 60.3 percent over Monday and down only 26.3 percent from last Tuesday. The
26-day total for Rampage stands at a very respectable $85.693 million. |
| Focus’ Tully remained in sixth place with $455,515. That represented a 64.8 percent increase over Monday. The five-day start for Tully stands at $4.064 million, which is in line with the
film’s very modest expectations. Tully is likely to hold up very well this weekend with aid from Mother’s Day. |
