Daily Box Office Report
Monday, April 23, 2018

By Daniel Garris

Paramount’s A Quiet Place led the daily box office on Monday with $1.513 million. A Quiet Place declined 70.6 percent from Sunday and a respectable 42.6 percent from last Tuesday. A Quiet Place continues to pad its breakout status with a strong 18-day gross of $132.784 million. That places the film an impressive 33.2 percent ahead of the $99.680 million 18-day take of last year’s Split.

Warner Bros. and New Line’s Rampage placed in second with $1.278 million. That represented a 78.7 percent decrease from Sunday and a sizable 49.2 percent decline from last Monday. Rampage has grossed $66.973 million in eleven days, which is in line with expectations and 6.3 percent behind the $71.485 million eleven-day haul of 2016’s Central Intelligence.

STXfilms’ I Feel Pretty took third place with $1.199 million. I Feel Pretty was down 68.6 percent from Sunday’s performance. The four-day start for I Feel Pretty stands at $17.229 million, which is in line with pre-release expectations. I Feel Pretty is running 17.8 percent behind the $20.954 million four-day launch of last year’s Snatched, but will hope to display stronger holding power than Snatched did.

Fox Searchlight’s Super Troopers 2 followed in fourth with $970,329. Super Troopers 2 declined 65.6 percent from Sunday, which represented one of the day’s stronger daily percentage holds among wide releases. Super Troopers 2 is greatly exceeding expectations with a four-day start of $16.152 million. The film is running 8.1 percent ahead of the $14.948 million four-day haul of 2015’s Entourage.

Warner’s Ready Player One and Universal’s Blockers claimed fifth and sixth place with respective daily grosses of $548,377 and $527,325. Ready Player One declined 74.0 percent from Sunday and 42.6 percent from last Monday, while Blockers decreased 68.1 percent from Sunday and 43.5 percent from last Monday. Respective total grosses stand at $126.648 million for Ready Player One in 26 days and at $48.630 million for Blockers in 18 days.
