| Disney’s Black Panther grossed $6.259 M on Tuesday to remain in first place at the daily box office for a 19th consecutive day. Black Panther increased 32.6 percent over Monday and decreased a
very solid 38.7 percent from last Tuesday. Black Panther has grossed a massive $512.686 M in 19 days. That represents the ninth highest unadjusted domestic gross of all-time and places the film an impressive 9.5 percent ahead
of the $468.271 M 19-day haul of 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers. |
| Black Panther grossed an estimated $5.3 M internationally on Tuesday. To date, Black Panther has grossed $408.7 M internationally and $921.3 M globally
(which leaves the film just $78.7 M away from the $1 billion global milestone). |
| Fox’s Red Sparrow held steady in second with $2.042 M. Red Sparrow increased a healthy 41.4 percent over Monday’s performance. Red Sparrow has grossed $20.340 M in five days, which is on
the low end of pre-release expectations. The Jennifer Lawrence led thriller is running 9.5 percent behind the $22.477 M five-day start of 2015’s Joy, which had the added advantage of stronger holiday season midweek business. |
| MGM’s Death Wish continued to claim third place with $1.465 M. Death Wish also experienced a healthy jump over Monday, as it was up 41.2 percent. The five-day take for Death Wish stands at
a softer than expected $15.513 M. Death Wish continues to perform very similarly to last year’s The Foreigner, which grossed $15.715 M in its first five days after taking in $1.537 M on its first Tuesday. |
| Warner and New Line’s Game Night remained in fourth place with $1.228 M. Game Night continues to display strong early holding power, as the film was up 46.5 percent over Monday and down 35.5 percent from last Tuesday.
The twelve-day gross for Game Night stands at a promising $35.306 M, which is in line with expectations. |
| Sony’s Peter Rabbit and Paramount’s Annihilation placed in fifth and sixth on Tuesday with respective daily grosses of $828 K and $724 K. Respective total grosses stand at a stronger than expected
$85.457 M for Peter Rabbit in 26 days and at $21.870 M for Annihilation in twelve days, which is on par with expectations. |
