| Disney’s Black Panther continued its historic start on Tuesday with $20.857 M. That represented the tenth largest single-day Tuesday gross of all-time
(eighth largest when not including opening day Tuesday grosses) and the largest Tuesday gross ever for a film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (the previous high-mark being the $17.677 M first-Tuesday gross of 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers).
Black Panther declined 48.1 percent on Tuesday from Monday’s record-breaking performance. |
| The five-day total for Black Panther stands at a massive $263.013 M, which represents the second largest five-day start of all-time
(behind only the $325.438 M five-day take of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens and just ahead of the $261.820 M five-day launch of last year’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Black Panther is running 60.6 percent
ahead of the $163.753 M five-day haul of 2016’s Deadpool (which fell 41.5 percent on its first Tuesday to take in $11.560 M). |
| Internationally, Black Panther grossed an estimated $14.6 M on Tuesday. The film has now grossed $199.2 M to date internationally and $462.2 M to date globally. International totals through Tuesday for
Black Panther include $28.5 M in the U.K., $28.3 M in South Korea, $11.5 M in Brazil, $10.9 M in Australia, $10.9 M in Mexico, $9.5 M in France, $8.0 M in Taiwan, $7.2 M in Indonesia and $6.7 M in Germany. |
