Fox’s Maze Runner: The Death Cure took in $1.363 M on Monday to lead the daily box office for a fourth consecutive day. Maze Runner: The Death Cure declined 77.6 percent from Monday’s performance. In comparison, 2015’s Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials slowed a similar 76.3 percent on its first Monday to gross $1.677 M. Maze Runner: The Death Cure has grossed $25.530 M in four days. That is slightly ahead of expectations, but still places the film 20.2 percent behind the $31.993 M four-day start of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.

Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures’ Hostiles was up one spot from Sunday to move into second place on Monday with $913 K. Hostiles was down 66.9 percent from Sunday, which represented one of the day’s stronger daily percentage holds among wide releases. Hostiles has grossed $12.871 M after four days of wide release and an additional five weeks of platform release. That places the film 1.2 percent ahead of the $12.724 M four-day start of last year’s 47 Meters Down, which was also released by Entertainment Studios.

Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle followed closely behind in third with $907 K. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle declined 80.8 percent from Sunday and decreased just 24.8 percent from last Monday. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has grossed $338.710 M through 41 days of release. That currently ranks in the film in fifth place among all 2017 releases domestically and gives the film an exceptional total gross to opening weekend ratio of 9.37 to 1.

Fox releases The Post and The Greatest Showman claimed fourth and fifth place for the day with respective daily grosses of $709 K and $706 K. The Post was down 72.4 percent from Sunday and down 29.4 percent from last Monday, while The Greatest Showman was down 73.2 percent from Sunday and down only 16.7 percent from last Monday. Respective total grosses stands at a strong $127.232 M for The Greatest Showman and at a very solid $59.502 M for The Post.

STXfilms’ Den of Thieves and Warner’s 12 Strong remained fairly close to one another on Monday with respective sixth place and seventh place takes of $699 K and $639 K. Through eleven days, 12 Strong is running towards the higher end of expectations with $30.450 M, while Den of Thieves has grossed a stronger than expected $29.474 M.
