After debuting in first place last weekend with a lackluster $42.21 million, Disney's Snow White will likely lead the domestic box office for a second time this weekend. With that said, it looks like Snow White won't hold up very well this weekend. Daily percentage holds for the film haven't been encouraging thus far, as mostly negative critical reviews, mixed word of mouth and some built-in initial front-loading all look to be taking a toll on Snow White. Thus far the domestic run for Disney's Snow White is looking fairly similar to that of 2019's re-imagining of Dumbo. After an opening weekend of $45.99 million, Dumbo declined a sharp 60.4 percent in its second weekend to gross $18.21 million. With initial daily grosses for Snow White continuing to run below those of Dumbo at the same point in its run (Snow White grossed $2.08 million on its first Wednesday, in comparison to $2.39 million for Dumbo), it's difficult to see the second weekend gross of Snow White being higher than the second weekend gross of Dumbo. Look for Disney's Snow White to fall a sharp 63.5 percent for a second weekend take of $15.4 million.

The weekend's top new release looks to be Amazon MGM Studios' A Working Man. The David Ayer directed action thriller stars Jason Statham and also features Michael Peña and David Harbour. A Working Man will be playing in 3,262 locations this weekend and has Thursday preview shows beginning at 2PM. Critical reviews for A Working Man have been mixed. In January of 2024, The Beekeeper, which also was directed by Ayer, starred Statham and released by Amazon MGM Studios, had a break-out opening weekend performance with respective three-day and four-day opening weekend grosses of $16.58 million and $18.74 million. A Working Man isn't expected to open quite as high as The Beekeeper did, but it likely won't be that far behind either. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that A Working Man will open in a fairly close second place with $13.6 million this weekend.

This weekend also sees Fathom Events' release of The Chosen: Last Supper – Part 1. The release features the first two episodes of the fifth season of The Chosen series and will be followed up by The Chosen: Last Supper – Part 2 next week and The Chosen: Last Supper – Part 3 the following week. Last year, the first installment of Season 4 of The Chosen opened on a Thursday and had respective three-day weekend and four-day grosses of $5.95 million and $7.38 million. Due in part to The Chosen: Last Supper dealing with Holy Week biblical events, there will likely be more interest in Season 5 than there was for Season 4. The Chosen: Last Supper – Part 1 could debut in third place with $8.0 million over the three-day weekend frame and start out with $10.0 million over its first four days (with Thursday included).

Also opening in wide release this weekend are Universal's The Woman in the Yard and A24's Death of a Unicorn. The Woman in the Yard is a PG-13 rated horror film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, which stars Danielle Deadwyler and Okwui Okpokwasili. Death of a Unicorn is an R-rated horror comedy directed by Alex Scharfman, which stars Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega and Will Poulter. The Woman in the Yard is playing in 2,842 locations this weekend and has Thursday preview shows beginning at 2PM. Death of a Unicorn is playing in 3,050 locations this weekend and has Thursday preview shows starting a bit later at 4PM. Although Death of a Unicorn features Rudd and Ortega, the film's concept could still result in the film having less mainstream appeal than The Woman in the Yard this weekend. The Woman in the Yard should also get at least a small boost from its PG-13 rating. While critical reviews are likely to be better for Death of a Unicorn than they will be for The Woman in the Yard, the mixed critical reviews for Death of a Unicorn are also weaker than most had been expecting prior to the film's release. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that The Woman in the Yard will take fourth place this weekend with $7.4 million and that Death of a Unicorn will follow in fifth place with a modest debut of $5.6 million.
