Disney's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will look to lead the domestic box office for a fourth consecutive frame this weekend. The blockbuster sequel is coming off a healthy Thanksgiving weekend performance, which saw the film decline 31.4 percent to gross $45.58 million over the three-day weekend. In general, blockbuster level films tend to experience some slowing the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend, due in part to benefiting from inflated business over Thanksgiving weekend. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is likely to follow that trend this weekend. Look for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to decline 52.8 percent this weekend for a first place take of $21.5 million. That would bring Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to just shy of the $400 million domestic mark.

This weekend sees the release of Universal's Violent Night. The R-rated Christmas themed action-comedy was directed by Tommy Wirkola and stars David Harbour and John Leguizamo. Violent Night is being released in a wide 3,682 locations this weekend, looks to be getting a good amount of average showtimes per location and will have Thursday preview shows beginning at 5PM. On the average, critical reviews for the film have been mixed, but more so positive than negative thus far. Violent Night isn't expected to fly out of the gate at the box office this weekend, but the film could potentially hold up well throughout the lead-up to Christmas, especially if Violent Night goes over better with audiences than it has with critics. As for this weekend, Violent Night could debut in second place with $11.2 million.

Disney's Strange World is coming off of a poor holiday start with respective three-day weekend and five-day holiday grosses of $12.15 million and $18.86 million. In addition to the film's disappointing performance at the box office, for an animated film Strange World looks to be going over weaker than usual with family audiences, given the film's B rating on CinemaScore. One factor that could help out this weekend's hold slightly; is that Strange World will still have a lot of showtimes this weekend given the scope of the film's wide release. A sharp 57.2 percent decline from last weekend would transfer into a third place take of $5.2 million for Strange World.

Sony's Devotion and Disney and Searchlight's The Menu took fourth and fifth place last weekend with respective three-day weekend grosses of $5.90 million and $5.48 million. With the one-week theatrical run of Netflix's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery having now ended, Devotion and The Menu should remain in fourth and fifth place this weekend. Furthermore, Devotion and The Menu (as well as other films aimed at adult audiences) could both get a bit of boost this weekend from Glass Onion no longer being a theatrical option for moviegoers. Devotion could decline a solid 40.7 percent from last weekend for $3.5 million this weekend, while The Menu could decrease a respectable 43.4 percent for $3.1 million.

Paramount's Top Gun: Maverick returns to theatres this weekend for the start of a two-week run. The Tom Cruise led blockbuster sequel officially ended its initial domestic run with a massive total gross of $716.658 million back on November 3rd. Top Gun: Maverick will be playing in 1,864 locations, and while the film is a bit of a wild card this weekend, Top Gun: Maverick is certainly going wide enough to have a presence at this weekend's box office. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a sixth place take of $1.7 million for Top Gun: Maverick this weekend.

This weekend will also see specialty releases for both Fathom Events and Sight & Sound Films' I Heard the Bells and Crunchyroll's The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie. Both films look to be getting only one or two daily showings at many of their locations this weekend, which will obviously limit potential for both films. I Heard the Bells could take in $1.5 million this weekend, while The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie could gross $1.0 million for the frame.
