On the heels of last weekend's strong $134.01 million start, Warner's The Batman is set to comfortably lead the box office again this weekend. While the film will obviously have some built-in front-loading, various factors are lining up quite nicely for The Batman to have a very respectable second weekend hold. In addition to the film's very good critical reviews, The Batman looks to be going over well with audiences after receiving a healthy A- rating on CinemaScore. Furthermore, daily holds for the film have been very solid thus far (especially for such a high-profile film), which also points towards early word of mouth being strong. The Batman will also receive a boost this weekend from keeping a high percentage of its showtimes from last weekend (including its IMAX screens).

One of the better recent second weekend comparisons for The Batman may prove to be last year's well-received Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which declined 54 percent in its second weekend to take in $34.70 million (currently ranking as the second highest second weekend gross since re-opening). A similar 53 percent decline for The Batman this weekend would transfer into an impressive second weekend gross of $62.5 million. In addition to easily taking over the second highest grossing second weekend since re-opening spot (behind only last year's Spider-Man: No Way Home), the performance would also already see The Batman zoom past the $224.54 million final domestic gross of Shang-Chi to become the second highest grossing film domestically since re-opening.

Sony's Uncharted continued to out-perform expectations last weekend after declining 52 percent to take second place with $11.10 million. While it was a sizable decline, the hold was quite respectable given the new direct competition from The Batman (which also led to Uncharted losing its IMAX screens). With the opening weekend of The Batman now out of the way, the continued aid of very good word of mouth and no new wide releases entering the marketplace this weekend, Uncharted is likely to stabilize significantly this weekend. Look for Uncharted to decrease just 25 percent this weekend to hold steady in second place with $8.3 million.

This past weekend also saw United Artists Releasing and MGM's Dog decline a solid 40 percent to take third with $6.12 million and Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home decrease only 22 percent to place in fourth with $4.52 million. As with Uncharted, Dog and Spider-Man: No Way Home are both likely to hold up better this weekend than they did last weekend. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Dog will decrease only 21.5 percent to gross $4.8 million (remaining in third) and that Spider-Man: No Way Home will decline a slim 11.5 percent to register $4.0 million (to stay in fourth place), as the superhero event film continues to approach the $800 million domestic milestone.

While there aren't any new wide releases entering the marketplace this weekend, Great India Films is releasing Radhe Shyam in semi-wide release in an estimated 800+ locations. Radhe Shyam will also have Thursday preview shows starting as early as 1:30PM. The Radha Krishna Kumar directed drama from India stars Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. Back in April of 2017, Great India Films experienced break-out box office success with Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which also starred Prabhas. While it's highly unlikely that Radhe Shyam would repeat the surprise box office success of Baahubali 2, the film could be in store for a respectable performance this weekend (especially given its estimated location count). BoxOfficeReport is predicting a debut of $2.7 million for Radhe Shyam this weekend.

As for some of this weekend's other holdovers, Disney and 20th Century's Death on the Nile could decline just 20 percent to take in $2.2 million (which would move the film past the $40 million domestic mark), Universal's Sing 2 could decrease a slim 14 percent to gross $1.4 million and Paramount's Jackass Forever could slow a solid 33 percent for $0.95 million.
