This weekend Universal and DreamWorks Animation's The Croods: A New Age is set to lead the domestic box office for a third consecutive frame. Last weekend The Croods: A New Age declined 54 percent to take in $4.44 million, which was right in line with the type of declines high-profile computer animated Thanksgiving releases tend to experience in their second weekend of release. Typically, films hold up significantly better this weekend than they do over the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend (especially family fare). In addition to continuing to benefit from both solid critical reviews and very good word of mouth, The Croods: A New Age should also get a bit of a boost this weekend from no new wide releases entering the marketplace. The Croods: A New Age is playing in 2,115 locations this weekend (which is down 90 locations from last weekend's location count). Look for The Croods: A New Age to decline 37 percent this weekend to take in $2.80 million for the frame. That will make The Croods: A New Age the seventh consecutive #1 film at the domestic box office for Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (a streak that should end next weekend with Sony now opening Monster Hunter on December 18 instead of Christmas Day).

After debuting in second place last weekend with $0.70 million, Focus' Half Brothers will look to remain in second place this weekend. While critical reviews for Half Brothers have tended to be negative, the film looks to be going over significantly better with moviegoers after receiving a respectable B rating on CinemaScore. Half Brothers will be playing in 1,386 locations this weekend (a small increase of 17 locations over last weekend's count) and it appears that the film's showtimes per location average will be holding up very nicely in comparison to last weekend at many theatres. A solid second weekend decline of 39 percent would transfer into $0.43 million for Half Brothers this weekend.

After declining 41 percent last weekend to take third place with $0.47 million, Universal's Freaky is likely to hold up at least a bit better this weekend. Look for Freaky (which will be playing in 1,235 locations this weekend) to decline 33 percent to take in $0.32 million this weekend.

While official grosses are not likely to be reported for the film this weekend, 2017's Wonder Woman is being re-issued by Warner Bros. this weekend; just in time for the release of Wonder Woman 1984 on Christmas Day. As part of this weekend's re-issue, Wonder Woman will also be playing on select IMAX screens. Given that Warner Bros. hasn't been officially reporting weekend grosses for its recent domestic re-issue titles (such as the ongoing re-issue of Elf), BoxOfficeReport isn't making a prediction for the performance of Wonder Woman this weekend. However, Wonder Woman and the continued re-issue of Elf should both be among the weekend's top seven performers.

Also among this weekend's top seven films will be 101 Studios' The War with Grandpa and Universal's All My Life. Last weekend The War with Grandpa declined 47 percent to gross $0.32 million, while All My Life debuted with $0.37 million. This weekend The War with Grandpa will be playing in 1,080 locations and All My Life will be playing in 965 locations. Look for The War with Grandpa to decline just 27 percent this weekend to take in $0.23 million and for All My Life to decrease 43 percent to gross a similar $0.21 million.

In other news this weekend, Bleecker Street's Wild Mountain Thyme is receiving a moderate launch in 450 locations. Critical reviews for the John Patrick Shanley directed film starring Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan have been mostly negative. In addition to playing in theatres this weekend, Wild Mountain Thyme is also opening day-and-date on PVOD. BoxOfficeReport isn't making an official prediction for Wild Mountain Thyme this weekend.
