Poetry by Daniel Garris - Cinema Poem 3 |

In our imperfections we fear what we find
Lifetime spent in creating an illusion
Instead of accepting beautiful failure inside
In the re-creation of the blemished human mind
Reaching to world’s ends for perfection
A man-made invention to one day replace mankind
To see his creation is to stare into the sublime
Yet there are ripples within the reflection
That it is beyond human they constantly remind
With the one it loves it is forever intertwined
But it creates in her a most unnatural confusion
In tearful sadness the creation’s love is denied
A sense of realness separation does provide
The creation embarks towards self-de-evolution
In the hope that its flawlessness it can hide
To the wonder outside and inside it is blind
There is no choice in the everlasting obsession
For ages trapped in her memory it is confined
Having learned the vision has crumbled and died
The created becomes creator through resurrection
At last his status as human has been defined
Striving with every last breath to leave behind
The smallest fragment of an eternal contribution
Only so long before it too melts away into time
