Poetry by Daniel Garris - Poem 85 |
|
Dreamer of the weakest kind
Alone so much of the time
Nostalgia as an obsession
Idealist under self-repression
Egotistical streak deep inside
Legend within his own mind
Joyful somewhere in his heart
Outgoing after a stunted start
Shyness that still reappears
Enigma through all his years
Prideful to be considered smart
Hopelessly in love with art
Grateful for all that he receives
Angry with the world he sees
Running away from the unknown
Relaxed regardless of the toll
Isolation allows him to appease
Self-doubt halts all of his dreams
