Poetry by Daniel Garris - Poem 82 |

Ferocious dancer of night
Shocking tingle of the spine
The unfathomable balance
At peace and with fright
Dangers of the imagined
Could they really happen
Deep runneth the paranoia
Hear the dancer laughin'
Momentary silence of still
Taketh away the frozen chill
Has the dancer vanished
Anticipation is such a thrill
Cometh the dancer again
With fury the steps extend
Soulful dance of destruction
Eternal laughter of no end
Frozen in the building fear
The song heard of the ear
Never visible is the dancer
Still terrified it may appear
So close the dancer's step
A whisper felt upon the neck
The courage to turn around
The dancer's song has left
Silence of still again arrives
Vanished, the dancer's cries
The pages are gently closed
Time to rest these tired eyes
