Poetry by Daniel Garris - Poem 79 |

Clouds against the dusk
Wind gentle to the touch
Leaves fallen of the soul
The passing of another day
Memories float slowly away
Leaves fallen of the soul
Stubbornly reaching to the sky
Not willing to let dreams die
Leaves fallen of the soul
To be an astronaut I used to wish
I'm sure just like every other kid
Leaves fallen of the soul
Childhood wishes longing to live
As the horizon continues to dim
Leaves fallen of the soul
Clouds vanish deep into the night
Lost emotions forever out of sight
Leaves fallen of the soul
Saddened face of blue and grey
Awaits next dusk to do the same
Leaves fallen of the soul
Clouds against the dusk
Wind gentle to the touch
Leaves fallen of the soul
