Universal’s Glass grossed $2.145 million on Wednesday to lead the daily box office for a sixth consecutive day. That represented a sharp 43.8 percent decline from Tuesday’s performance. The six-day start
for Glass stands at a softer than expected, but still respectable, $52.464 million. Glass is running 6.7 percent ahead of the $49.191 million six-day haul of 2017’s Split, but that percentage lead won’t last for
long, as Wednesday’s gross for Glass came in under the $2.488 million first-Wednesday gross of Split. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Glass will remain in first place in its second weekend with $18.0 million. |
STXfilms’ The Upside held steady in second place with $1.140 million. The Upside was down 39.4 percent from Tuesday and down just 32.7 percent from last Wednesday. With a stronger than expected
thirteen-day gross of $49.703 million, The Upside is set to surpass the $50 million domestic mark today. The Upside is running an impressive 19.0 percent ahead of the $41.758 million thirteen-day take of 2015’s
The Wedding Ringer. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a third weekend gross of $10.2 million for The Upside. |
Funimation Films’ Dragon Ball Super: Broly continued to impress on Wednesday with a third place take of $822,429. Dragon Ball Super: Broly was down a solid 35.7 percent from Tuesday and down a very
sharp, but understandable, 88.3 percent from last Wednesday’s opening day performance. The eight-day total for Dragon Ball Super: Broly stands at an exceptional $24.468 million. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that
Dragon Ball Super: Broly will gross $4.5 million in its second weekend. |
Warner’s Aquaman and Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse claimed fourth and fifth place with respective daily grosses of $662,552 and $471,052. After 34 days of release, Aquaman has
grossed $308.516 million, while Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has grossed $162.389 million through 41 days. BoxOfficeReport is predicting respective weekend grosses of $7.0 million for Aquaman and $6.3 million for
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. |
