Universal’s Halloween had an impressive Halloween performance on Wednesday with a first place take of $5.55 million. With the aid of the holiday, Halloween was up 46.3 percent over Tuesday and up
50.8 percent over last Wednesday. Halloween has now led the daily box office for thirteen consecutive days and has grossed an exceptional $137.886 million through its first thirteen days. That places the film 53.9 percent ahead
of the recent $89.586 million thirteen-day haul of The Nun. With the Halloween holiday now behind us, Halloween is likely to experience a significant decline this weekend. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a third weekend
take of $14.0 million for Halloween. |
Warner’s A Star is Born held steady in second place with $1.302 million. A Star is Born didn’t receive the type of Halloween boost that many other films saw yesterday, as the film was down
30.4 percent from Tuesday, but at the same time A Star is Born was still down just 33.8 percent from last Wednesday. A Star is Born has grossed a very strong $153.109 million after 27 days of wide release. BoxOfficeReport
is predicting that A Star is Born will gross $9.7 million in its fifth weekend. |
Sony’s Venom grossed $965,481 to remain in third on Wednesday. Venom received a Halloween boost yesterday, as the film was down 14.6 percent from Tuesday and down a slim 14.1 percent from last
Wednesday. Venom has grossed a stronger than expected $190.034 million in 27 days, which leaves the film just $9.966 million away from the $200 million domestic mark. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a fifth weekend haul of
$6.2 million for Venom. |
Fellow Sony release Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween also received a Halloween boost, as the film was up 14.0 percent over Tuesday to move into fourth place with $702,184. Goosebumps 2 was up a
massive 83.0 percent over last Wednesday. The 20-day total for Goosebumps 2 stands at a respectable $39.818 million. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween will take in $5.0 million in its
fourth weekend. |
Lionsgate’s Hunter Killer was down one spot from Tuesday to round out Wednesday’s top five with $666,682. Hunter Killer didn’t receive much help from the holiday, as the film was down 31.3 percent
from Tuesday. The six-day start for Hunter Killer stands at just $8.913 million, which is towards the lower end of the film’s modest expectations. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $3.2 million for
Hunter Killer. |
