Daily Box Office Report
Monday, June 25, 2018

By Daniel Garris

Universalís Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom grossed $14.726 million on Monday to lead the daily box office for a fourth straight day. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom did fall 63.0 percent from Sunday, which represented the dayís sharpest daily percentage decline among wide releases. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is performing on the very high end of expectations with a four-day start of $162.750 million. That places Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 4.1 percent ahead of the $156.373 million four-day haul of last yearís Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (which declined 74.8 percent on its first Monday to gross $9.863 million) and 30.5 percent behind the $234.151 million four-day launch of 2015ís Jurassic World (which slowed just 55.7 percent on its first Monday to take in $25.345 million).

Disneyís Incredibles 2 took second place with $10.417 million. Incredibles 2 was down 58.0 percent from Sunday and down a sharp 55.9 percent from last Monday. Incredibles 2 has grossed an exceptional $360.211 million through eleven days of release. Yesterday, Incredibles 2 passed the $356.462 million final gross of 2015ís Inside Out to become the third highest grossing Pixar film of all-time domestically (behind only 2016ís Finding Dory and 2010ís Toy Story 3). Incredibles 2 is running 21.5 percent ahead of the $296.500 million eleven-day take of Finding Dory (which declined 53.6 percent on its second Monday to gross $10.222 million). Incredibles 2 will look to stabilize going forward with the debut of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom now behind it.

Warnerís Oceanís 8 placed in third with $1.384 million. That represented a 57.5 percent decline from Sunday and a solid 42.9 percent decrease from last Monday. Oceanís 8 has grossed a healthy $101.666 million through 18 days of release. That places the film 9.9 percent ahead of the $92.502 million 18-day take of 2007ís Oceanís Thirteen.

Fellow Warner Bros. release Tag followed in fourth with $1.085 million. Tag was down 56.2 percent from Sunday and down a solid 40.3 percent from last Monday. Tag continues to perform towards the higher end of expectations with a solid eleven-day gross of $31.505 million. The film is running just 7.6 percent behind the $34.078 million eleven-day take of Game Night earlier this year.

Foxís Deadpool 2 rounded out the dayís top five with $641,157. Deadpool 2 declined 59.1 percent from Sunday and decreased a solid 41.8 percent from last Monday. The 39-day total for Deadpool 2 stands at a strong $304.813 million.
