Disney’s Avengers: Infinity War took in $7.052 million on Wednesday to lead the daily box office for a thirteenth straight day. Avengers: Infinity War was down 33.9 percent from Tuesday
and down a very sharp 58.4 percent from last Wednesday. In comparison, Black Panther declined 32.6 percent on its second Wednesday to gross $6.877 million, while 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers decreased 25.2 percent on its
second Wednesday to register $6.340 million. |
The thirteen-day domestic total for Avengers: Infinity War stands at $479.116 million. Yesterday saw Avengers: Infinity War surpass the $474.545 million lifetime domestic gross of 1999’s
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace to move into twelfth place on the all-time unadjusted domestic list. Avengers: Infinity War is running 21.0 percent ahead of the $395.813 million thirteen-day haul of
Marvel’s The Avengers, 11.7 percent ahead of the $428.792 million thirteen-day take of Black Panther and 23.8 percent behind the $629.035 million thirteen-day gross of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Avengers: Infinity War will gross $60.0 million in its third weekend. |
Internationally, Avengers: Infinity War continued to impress on Wednesday with an estimated $17.1 million. That brings the film’s international total to $771.9 million and current global haul to a
massive $1.251 billion. Yesterday, Avengers: Infinity War passed last year’s The Fate of the Furious to move into thirteenth place all-time globally. Avengers: Infinity War will continue to soar internationally
this weekend as it opens in China on Friday. |
Lionsgate, Pantelion and MGM’s Overboard held steady in second place with $990,943. Overboard declined 37.5 percent from Tuesday’s performance. The six-day total for Overboard stands
at $18.439 million, which is on the high end of expectations and places the film 24.1 percent ahead of the $14.857 million six-day start of last year’s How to Be a Latin Lover. This weekend, Overboard will be
playing in 2,006 locations. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $9.7 million for Overboard. |
Paramount’s A Quiet Place remained in third place for the day with $719,833. A Quiet Place continued to hold up very nicely, as the film was down 25.0 percent from Tuesday and down a slim
13.8 percent from last Wednesday. The 34-day breakout performance for A Quiet Place stands at a much stronger than expected $162.433 million. BoxOfficeReport expects A Quiet Place to hold up very well this weekend
with a sixth weekend take of $6.5 million. |
STXfilms’ I Feel Pretty continued to claim fourth with $530,279. I Feel Pretty declined 28.0 percent from Tuesday and just 28.9 percent from last Wednesday. I Feel Pretty continues to
perform in line with expectations with a 20-day take of $39.678 million and is set to surpass the $40 million domestic mark today. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that I Feel Pretty will gross $3.7 million in its fourth weekend. |
Focus’ Tully was up one spot from Tuesday to round out Wednesday’s top five with $353,580. Tully declined just 22.4 percent from Tuesday. The six-day start for Tully stands at
$4.418 million, which is in line with the film’s very modest expectations. With the aid of Mother’s Day, BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $3.2 million for Tully. |
