Disney’s Avengers: Infinity War continued to dominate the daily box office on Wednesday with $16.967 million for the day. That represented a very solid 27.6 percent decline from Tuesday’s
performance. In comparison, Black Panther declined 29.6 percent to take in $14.688 million on its first Wednesday earlier this year, while 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers decreased just 23.0 percent on its first Wednesday
to take in $13.613 million. |
Avengers: Infinity War has grossed an exceptional $322.831 million through six days of release. That represents the second largest six-day start of all-time; trailing only the $363.460 million six-day
launch of 2015’s Star Wars: Force Awakens (by 11.2 percent). Avengers: Infinity War is running 16.3 percent ahead of the $277.701 million six-day start of Black Panther and an impressive 25.3 percent ahead of the
$257.628 million six-day haul of Marvel’s The Avengers. Given the magnitude of the film’s daily midweek grosses and its strong word of mouth, BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend gross of $119.0 million for
Avengers: Infinity War. That would represent the second largest second weekend gross of all-time, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($149.203 million). |
Internationally, Avengers: Infinity War grossed an estimated $32.2 million on Wednesday. That brings the film’s international total to $534.7 million and global total to a massive $857.5 million.
International totals by market through Wednesday for Avengers: Infinity War include $51.3 million in the U.K., $50.9 million in South Korea, $38.3 million in Mexico, $31.6 million in Brazil, $28.3 million in India,
$26.7 million in Australia, $25.3 million in France, $22.1 million in Germany, $17.0 million in Indonesia, $16.8 million in the Philippines, $15.5 million in Italy, $14.8 million in Japan and $13.8 million in Spain. |
Paramount’s A Quiet Place took in $835,189 on Wednesday to remain in second. A Quiet Place was down 27.0 percent from Tuesday and down a solid 42.4 percent from last Wednesday.
A Quiet Place has grossed a much stronger than expected $151.401 million through 27 days. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that A Quiet Place will gross $8.0 million in its fifth weekend. |
STXfilms’ I Feel Pretty held steady in third place with $745,820. That represented a 29.9 percent decrease from Tuesday and a solid 41.4 percent decline from last Wednesday. The thirteen-day total for
I Feel Pretty stands at $32.147 million, which is in line with expectations. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a third weekend gross of $5.5 million for I Feel Pretty. |
Warner Bros. and New Line’s Rampage continued to claim fourth with $450,483. Rampage was down 39.5 percent from Tuesday and down a sharp 60.7 percent from last Wednesday. Rampage has
grossed a respectable $79.723 million in 20 days. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Rampage will take in $4.7 million in its fourth weekend. |
Disney’s Black Panther rounded out the day’s unchanged top five with $350,729. That represented a 26.8 percent decrease from Tuesday and a solid 42.5 percent decline from last Wednesday.
Black Panther has grossed a massive $689.626 million in 76 days, which leaves the film just $10.374 million away from reaching the $700 million domestic milestone. |
