| Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was up one spot from Tuesday to move back into first place at the daily box office on Wednesday with $755 K. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
declined 25.6 percent from Tuesday and a slim 10.8 percent from last Wednesday. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has grossed an extremely impressive $355.103 M in 50 days, which gives the film a current total gross to
opening weekend ratio of 9.82 to 1. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will take fourth place this weekend with $9.3 M. |
| Fox’s Maze Runner: The Death Cure fell one spot from Tuesday to land in second place on Wednesday with $654 K. Maze Runner: The Death Cure decreased 36.4 percent from Tuesday and a
solid 40.1 percent from last Wednesday. The thirteen-day total for Maze Runner: The Death Cure stands at $42.436 M, which is towards the higher end of expectations, but also places the film 22.7 percent behind
the $54.874 M thirteen-day gross of 2015’s Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a third weekend take of $5.5 M for Maze Runner: The Death Cure. |
| Fellow Fox release The Greatest Showman was up one place from Tuesday to claim third on Wednesday with $638 K. The Greatest Showman continues to display tremendous holding power, as the
film was down 28.0 percent from Tuesday and down a very slim 6.7 percent from last Wednesday. The Greatest Showman has grossed a stronger than expected $139.521 M in 50 days, which gives the film a whopping current
total gross to opening weekend ratio of 15.84 to 1. BoxOfficeReport is predicting The Greatest Showman will take fifth this weekend with $6.5 M. |
| Lionsgate and CBS Films’ Winchester was down one position from Tuesday to place in fourth on Wednesday with $603 K. Winchester slowed 37.1 percent from Tuesday’s performance. Winchester
has grossed $11.567 M in six days, which is in line with the film’s modest expectations and places the film 23.9 percent behind the $15.192 M six-day launch of last year’s Rings. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second
weekend gross of $5.0 M for Winchester. |
| Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures’ Hostiles rounded out Wednesday’s top five with $543 K. Hostiles decreased 29.7 percent from Tuesday and a very solid 33.5 percent from last
Wednesday. Hostiles has grossed $22.687 M after thirteen days of wide release and an additional five weeks of platform release. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Hostiles will take in $3.3 M this weekend. |
