Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was down one place from Monday to finish in a very close second on Tuesday with $1.014 M. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle trailed
Maze Runner: The Death Cure by a very slim $12,658 for the day. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was up 33.3 percent over Monday and down only 18.1 percent from last Tuesday. The 49-day total for
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stands at $354.348 M, which gives the film a current total gross to opening weekend ratio of 9.80 to 1. |
Lionsgate and CBS Films’ Winchester held steady in third place with $960 K. That represented a healthy 37.7 percent increase over Monday’s performance. Winchester has grossed
$10.964 M in five days, which is in line with the film’s modest expectations. Winchester is running 25.1 percent behind the $14.634 M five-day launch of Rings over the same time frame in early February of
last year, but did have a stronger first-Tuesday gross than that of Rings ($925 K). |
Fox’s The Greatest Showman took in $885 K to continue to claim fourth. The Greatest Showman continues to display tremendous holding power as the film was up 41.1 percent over Monday
and down a slim 13.5 percent from last Tuesday. The Greatest Showman has grossed a stronger than expected $138.883 M in 49 days, which gives the film a tremendous current total gross to opening weekend ratio of
15.77 to 1. |
Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures’ Hostiles rounded out Tuesday’s top five with $773 K. Hostiles increased 40.8 percent over Monday’s strong daily hold and decreased a solid
37.4 percent from last Tuesday. Hostiles has grossed $22.144 M after twelve days of wide release and an additional five weeks of platform release. That places the film 15.4 percent behind the
$26.166 M twelve-day haul of last year’s 47 Meters Down. |
