Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle took in $2.186 M on Wednesday to lead the daily box office for the ninth time over the past ten days. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle did decline a sharp 38.3 percent from Tuesday and 68.4 percent from last Wednesday. The 22-Day total for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stands at a significantly stronger than expected $254.005 M. That is an impressive 16.3 percent ahead of the $218.317 M 22-day take of 2016’s Sing. BoxOfficeReport is predicting that Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will remain in first place this weekend with a four-day holiday weekend gross of $37.0 M.

Disney’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi held steady in second with $1.744 M. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was down a solid 26.3 percent from Tuesday and down 66.6 percent from last Wednesday. Star Wars: The Last Jedi has grossed a massive $578.596 M in 27 days, which places the film 19.7 percent ahead of the $483.393 M 27-day haul of 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a fifth weekend four-day take of $17.5 M over the holiday weekend for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Internationally, Star Wars: The Last Jedi took in an estimated $5.1 M on Wednesday. To date, Star Wars: The Last Jedi has grossed $651.1 M internationally and $1.230 B globally.

Universal’s Insidious: The Last Key remained in third place with $1.373 M. That represented a sharp 37.8 percent decline from Tuesday. In the bigger picture, Insidious: The Last Key continues to exceed expectations with a six-day start of $34.931 M. Insidious: The Last Key is running a healthy 19.7 percent ahead of the $28.742 M six-day launch of 2015’s Insidious: Chapter 3. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a second weekend take of $13.0 M for Insidious: The Last Key over the four-day frame.

Fox’s The Greatest Showman followed closely behind in fourth with $1.325 M. The Greatest Showman continues to display terrific holding power, as the film decreased 30.4 percent from Tuesday and 49.6 percent from last Wednesday. The Greatest Showman has grossed a stronger than expected $81.464 M in 22 days, which already gives the film a total gross to opening weekend ratio of 9.25 to 1. BoxOfficeReport is predicting a fourth weekend four-day gross of $14.0 M for The Greatest Showman.

Focus’ Darkest Hour and STXfilms’ Molly’s Game claimed fifth and sixth place on Wednesday with respective daily grosses of $797 K and $693 K. Both films held up nicely yesterday, as Darkest Hour declined only 18.2 percent from Tuesday, while Molly’s Game decreased 25.3 percent. Respective total grosses stand at $30.470 M for Darkest Hour in 50 days and at $16.247 M for Molly’s Game in 17 days. For the four-day holiday weekend, BoxOfficeReport is predicting $6.5 M for Darkest Hour and $6.0 M for Molly’s Game.
