Warner’s IT grossed $4.208 M on Monday to lead the daily box office for an eleventh straight day. IT declined 72.1 percent from Sunday and 52.0 percent from last Monday. IT continues to journey into uncharted waters for an R-rated horror film with a massive eleven-day take of $223.022 M. That places IT an astonishing 156.8 percent ahead of the $86.850 M eleven-day gross of 2013’s The Conjuring and just 7.6 percent behind the $241.331 M eleven-day haul of last year’s Deadpool.

Lionsgate and CBS Films’ American Assassin placed in second with $1.284 M. American Assassin decreased 64.2 percent from Sunday’s performance. The four-day start for American Assassin stands at $16.131 M, which is in line with expectations. American Assassin is running 2.6 percent ahead of the $15.717 M four-day launch of 2014’s John Wick. American Assassin will be facing new direct competition from Fox’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle starting on Friday.

Paramount’s mother! claimed third place with $625 K. mother! was down 63.3 percent from Sunday, which represented one of the day’s stronger daily percentage holds among wide releases. In the bigger picture, mother! is running below expectations with a modest four-day start of $8.160 M. That places mother! an underwhelming 36.7 percent behind the $12.899 M four-day take of 2012’s House at the End of the Street.

Open Road’s Home Again took fourth with $406 K. Home Again declined 66.9 percent from Sunday and a very solid 35.1 percent from last Monday. Home Again continues to run in line with its modest expectations with an eleven-day gross of $17.390 M. Home Again is running 27.3 percent behind the $23.928 M eleven-day haul of 2015’s Hot Pursuit.

Lionsgate’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Weinstein Company’s Wind River took fifth and sixth place with respective grosses of $301 K and $274 K. The Hitman’s Bodyguard was down 67.1 percent from Sunday and just 23.6 percent from last Monday, while Wind River decreased 57.9 percent from Sunday and a slim 14.9 percent from last Monday. Respective total grosses stand at $70.697 M for The Hitman’s Bodyguard in 32 days and at $29.415 M for Wind River in 46 days.
